Seoul, as we found out, is a world class city. A little bit New York a little bit Paris. Sometimes, you visit a capital and it doesn’t represent the country. But everything we read and everyone we talked to wanted us to realize Seoul was the place to be. It’s huge and grey. But also sweet and quaint. Towering modern skyscrapers filled with designer shopping and upscale restaurants. Tiny side streets dotted with the chicest cafes you’ve ever seen. The old palaces are still there with the financial districts built around them. Markets dating back to 1414 now selling polyester hair extensions and selfie sticks. Everything you could ever want to eat or buy sold by slick retail or out of grandpa’s truck. It’s glitzy and charming at the same time.

Glitzy, charming, quaint, sweet …… are perfect words to describe these photos Erica. It’s amazing to see that it all fits together and works; be it a towering skyscraper, a pretty little flower stand, a 4-stool lunch counter, or apples & oranges sold on a simple flat bed truck.
