Osaka has long been an economic hub for Japan. The Kansai region has it’s own dialect and the people are known for being very outspoken, and more bold than any other Japanese. I think the city of Osaka reflected this. It is huge, industrial, and grey. It’s also vibrant, dynamic, and sparkly. It’s a drinking town, where food rules. The restaurants are open for 24 hours and when we left to get on the train early in the morning we encountered a group of friends still up, still drinking and most definitely still eating. It’s a city that’s not pretentious and it’s not apologizing for it.

Loved those pictures. Really a good feeling for the city. Xk

Is that a bottle of water you’re holding, Erica……… or vodka ???
I’m guessing the way you’re hanging on to it for dear life, it’s VODKA.
Also, a question about the photo of the restaurant where it looks like you place your order by picking up the phone on the wall and calling your order in. Hopefully they speak English …. Lord knows what you might end up with if they don’t speaka-the-language.

She came running up so we could gesture and point but as you know when traveling you really never know what you might end up with.
